I Have LTO3 Drvie *4 , LTO4 Drive*2 , Check tape drive use "ioscan -funC tape" and "ioscan -fnNC tape" the status not the same , and I check DataProtect 6.2 Driver settiong only found four Drive not six , the Drive 10 ioccan type is LTO4 but Dataprotect show this is LTO3 , how can I fix this problem or restart dataprotect clent agent to found The correct drive. After upgrade to DP 9.09 if you have more than 50 Exchange databases will not be showed into GUI console trying to create or modify specification backup. It works fine with 9.08

I have a HP ESL physical tape drives LTO5 libray and also a HP StoreOnce B6500 with VTLs and Catalyst Stores. I'm trying to enable tape drive encryptiong on DP GUI under Devices but wanted to know if it's supported on the B6500 VTLs and catalyst.

We have a client running Data Protector on Linux and their backups have started to fail with the below errors, there is only a single server which backups to a local tape drive. Unfortunately I'm not very familiar with the product. Is it possible to confirm where I might start to investigate? I've attempted to run omnidbcheck -keystore, but this doesn't show any errors:

I am in the process to set up a new backup environment. The CM and IS are both installed on the same Linux server. Our old environment used to be on DP Express which had a GUI client on Linux.
With the new version we bought, version 9.0, I sadly discovered there is no more Linux GUI but only a Windows GUI. Now my question is how to we install the GUI on Windows?

We use DP6.1 to backup Exchage servers that are configured in DAG environment. Backups are running for long time without issues. These servers have 2 NIC cards, one is production NIC and the other is Backup NIC. However backups are configured on the production NIC for some reason.
Recently we are experiencing some performance issues on Exchanger servers, so I was asked to put the backup on the Backup NIC. I am facing a problem here. When use the backup NIC I can see all the drives and folders, but I cannot see any databases. i.e only file level backup I can configure.
Will anybody be able to give me any hint?

I have two problems with DP. I pretend to use VMware GRE with vCenter Server so I have installed a mount proxy successful and the Advanced GRE Web Plug-in to vCenter Server imported as VMware vCenter client, according to the manual.
I followed all the steps in the manual to install GRE and I have two problems.
The vCenter Server shows this message in the HPE Data Protector's screen:
"Error while trying to get the list of requests
Bad file format. Syntax error at line 1, column 13. Expected 'token->type==token_eq', got string. Near: '' "
The second error appears when I close the previous error, and this says the following:
"Error while trying to get the list of requests
Log on to Virtual Center 192.168.0.110 could not be performed.
Details:Connection information missing. Check that VMware vCenter host has been imported to Data Protector cell."
I have completed all the installation process, following the DP docs and I can't to solve this problems.
Help me, please!

Cell Manager, updated to 9.09., Disk Agent, Virtual Environment Integration.
- Mount Proxy server (Windows Server 2012 R2)
DP client with: Virtual Environment Integration and VMware GRE Agent.
Is there a documented limit to the Filesystem size and/or any limitation of maximum objects in a filesystem that DP 9.07 can handle?

Since DP 9.09 update following is seen in windows system event log :
Cluster Shared Volume 'Volume1' ('Cluster Disk 2') has identified one or more active filter drivers on this device stack that could interfere with CSV operations. I/O access will be redirected to the storage device over the network through another Cluster node. This may result in degraded performance. Please contact the filter driver vendor to verify interoperability with Cluster Shared Volumes.
Active filter drivers found:
HPEDpHsm (HSM)
Problem is caused by filter driver added with VEPA component in DP 9.09 patch. It's used for VMware GRE, Power On and Live Migrate features.
As a workaround this filter driver can be unloaded with command:
fltmc unload HPEDpHsm
Question for anyone using SAP Integration backups in Data Protector.
We have been using these backups for years but have had issues with the backup sessions creating a complete restore set. So all of our backups are setup to backup the database and the archive logs. However, when we try to restore a backup the archive logs captured during the backup session is always one log short when we try to recover the Oracle database.
How are others handling this situation? I have been working on a post-exec script that runs at the end of the backup. The script kicks off a couple of log switches in Oracle and then executes a command line brarchive backup of the archive logs. It just seems strange to me that we have to do something like this. I would think if Data Protector offers a backup of database and archive logs, that it would be a complete set to recover from. So I am hoping I am just missing some little nugget of information that will make these backup sets a complete set for recovery without adding a post-exec script.

I can see whats happening, i'm copying media from 1 device to another, and when i select opb copy and i say protection, same as source, all it does it make a copy of the media but with the protection from todays date.
as an example, if i do a backup that normally has protection for 7 days. If I copy that obj after 3 days, i want the media to only have 4 more days protection, not to put 7 days from today again which is whats currently happening. Obviously i can manually chnage per object, but i was hoping to copy everything in go and its to match the protection from the otehr device, not putthe protection as 7 days from today on everything.

Quick question, as I've been fighting with the help info all morning!
wanted to display details of all the tapes in the scratch pool so I know the number of times the tapes have been used (number overwrites). I ended up doing a batch file for each tape but isn't there a way to do this via command line for all the tapes such as: omnimm -media_info "pool name" -detail

OMNIMM -MEDIA_INFO TAPE_MON2 -detail

I have found a report (object copies report) which seems to do whati want, but is there a way of filtering out what jobs didn't complete initially.
Basically we had a fault, and some of the backups say completed with failures etc, and as these backups didn't complete then our replication task didn't replicate it. This then shows in this report as only having 1 copy, but i want the report to only show jobs which the original file also completed fine. So i can tell if i'm missing anything that hasnt been replicated.

We get messages now and then from our server like the one below. The next time the backup runs all is OK. How do I even go about hunting down the issue? Both CM and cel are HP-UX11.31

A few times a week we get the following message from a servers backup that is trying to go to a StoreOnce. The next time the backup runs, it runs OK... then maybe another server generates this. How do I huint it down? The Cells and CM are all HP-UX11.31 The StoreOnce has Version : 3.15.1-1636.1 on it.
