Error when recovery email Exchange 2016

When I use Granular Extension to recovery email Exchange 2016, the problem has occur : ( in attachment)

system.Management.Automation.RemoteException: Cannot open mailbox /o=....... Mail Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDI.............)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=......./cn=Microsoft System Attendant.

(DP) Support Tip: Enabling ECC Encryption may fail on long hostnames.

When trying to encrypt the Data Protector Cell Manager the following error is generated:

[124:111] Failed to enable encryption for hosts:
ustlsdp014
ustlsdp014

Problem occurs using the GUI or command line (omnicc -encryption -enable ustlsdp014)

The problem is caused by the fact that the hostname is longer than 8 Characters.

This is a known issue documented in QCCR2A70294, and will be fixed in a future release.

If you are experiencing this issue, please contact HPE DP support for assistance.

hi

my question is about Cell manager. we have several jobs set up inside cell manager. is there any way to write a powershell script to list all jobs and their status? for example to see  which job has been disabled?

DP Win Cluster Issue on 2012

Windows cluster installation is unable to get installed on Win 2012. as its not compatible.

But can be installed on Win 2012 R2 as a work around which is a known issue as on date.

Restore when IDB had no DCBF/Fname space

Hi all

We have a customer using DP 6.20 and they have been running without DCBF and FNAME space for several months resulting backups with 'No Log' and no session detail.

Am I right in thinking that restore is still possible for objects within the affected backup sessions but would need to be performed via CLI and be session specific? .. Obviously when we specify the desired object to restore within the GIU Restore Context it is not available, presumably due to IDB space issues.

If anyone could offer any assistance or comments it would be a big help.

(DP) Support Tip: Writing debugs to a networked file system can introduce performance problems.

Some users will write the Data Protector debugs to a networked file system such as CIFS or NFS.

Doing so will introduce a performance problem, and possibly a very significant one.  It is always best to use a locally attached or SAN attached volume to write debugs when troubleshooting issues.

Tape quality and Protection time

Hello All,

I'm currently using HDP to backup my System. But i have a few things that i'm not sure about it, please someone help to answer me:

1. Protection time shows expired that is mean the data on that tape was erased completely and cannot be restored?

2. Tape quality show Fair is mean the Tape was died and cannot be re-used any longer? All data backed up also  gone away? 

3. Do format tape many times is the reason Tape will die sooner than normally?

General Error While Patching

When patching the cell manager either Linux / Unix some may experience that there is no patches listed on the GUI and its blank.. Even removing the patch / Reboot will not work.

When trying it on the CLI it throws an error as "General Error"

 

Solution : Fix the shell level to get this error fixed. Nothing more for the installed patches.

 

DP9.06 - windows 2008 R2 EADR - no networking!!

I have a standard windows 2008 R2 server that I am performing EADR tests on. Host has 4 x 1Gbit NICS: HP NC382i DP Multifunctional Gigabit adapters, driver file bxnd60a.sys

When I boot off the ISO, there are no networking adapters even though during ISO creation, driver option, inject drivers has "C:\windows\temp\dr6\bxnd_inf_amd64_neutral_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx_bxnd.inf".

When booted off the ISO I see the injected driver but the initial DR process has not been able to install it.

Any ideas? Ways to install manually?? 


AIX servers in a Data Protector 9.07 cell manager.........................

I cannot get any version of AIX to accept ECC (Encrypted Control Communication).  All blank certificates are in place in all the correct directories, etc.  Is this OS excluded for ECC?  There is NO mention of an exclusion in my DP 9.07 documentation.  Is there a support matrix for the ECC feature?

When running OMNICC -ENCRPTION -ENABLE -ALL from the cell manager, it returns a message that all clients have been enabled but my one AIX in the GUI shows no ECC and will not verify.  This seems to definitely be a bug.

Files backed up in previous incremental backups continue to get backed up on subsequent incrementals.

Running HP Data Protector v9.05 on Windows 2008 R2 professional as my Cell Manager.

I'm backing up a Windows 2008 R2 client and have noticed for several months that the Incremental backups are running a very long time (over 3days).    FIles that were backed up in previous INC backups and that have not changed (modified date still the same) are being backed up over and over.   I made sure the backup schedule is set to INC (regular INC) not INC1 or INC2 (differential).

EXAMPLE:

10/01/2016 - FULL backup runs - All files are backed up.

10/02/2016 - INC backup runs - new and modified files are backed up.

10/03/2016 - INC backup runs - new and modified files PLUS the files from day before are backed up.

10/04/2016 - INC backup runs.   files that were backed up on 10/02, 10/03 are again backed up.

Like I said....I checked the schedule to ensure they are regular INC and not INC1.

When I create a backup listing using omndb -winfs object -session -catalog I get the modify time stamp for files and I see that DP is backing up files that have not been modified.

I just opened a case with HP Support but was wondering if anyone has seen this behaviour before and can offer any tips or suggestions.   Could it be a setting on Windows OS on the client.
