Is it possible to change GUI "Devices & Media -> Media -> Pools" filter settings for them to stay permanent?
At the moment "Items per page" is always 50, I want it to always be 500. I have a lot of media pools and media therefore I always have to change it to a larger value.
How to change it for it to stick to the larger value?

DP 9.07. CM is running on RHEL 6.8
I'm trying to get EADR to work (to verify that it works, not because I need it to work) for a random DP client.
I've generated an iso, mounted it as virtual media on the iLO, and have booted it. Because the original system is still online, I enter the shell and set up networking with an IP for a test host. I select Default restore. After some processing, I'm asked "Do you want to use AES key file for decryption [y/n]?" No matter how I answer, Y or N, it eventually asks me to enter the path to the AES key file.
I'm using disk based encryption, not software encryption.
But when I look in the srd recovery.srd file, I see "-encrypt aes256" associated with all of the filesystems, so I'm guessing this is why I'm being asked for an AES key file. Correct?
If so, how do I find out where aes256 is set on my cell manager so that I can turn it off? When I grep for aes256 in my backup spec, I find nothing.

I have recently upgraded my DP from 7 to 9 and after the upgrade when i am trying to connect to the CM through HPDP client i am getting the below error
"Unknown SSL protocol error in connection to odsapdb1:7116"
Upgrade went succesful without any error.
Did you solve problem?

When 2 backup sessions start at the same time and each datalists have the same object name , the 2 objects become Original/Copy relation unexpectedly .
Object copies (replication) for those 2 objects will fail without any error message because any target to be copied is not found.
[Workaround / Fix]
By design, DP recognizes objects with the same point in time as pairs of original/copy .
Please consider not to set the same object name and not to schedule them at the same time .

I have a serious problem in my Data Protector, after upgrading to version 9.07 the application is running out action intermittently.
When the error occurs, I can not open the GUI and also can not run any command via Prompt.
Interestingly, the services are all up and do not show any errors. In the event viewer it is possible to identify the following related to a DLL problem:
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.3.9600.18007, time stamp: 0x55c4c16b
I'm open incident at HP but the team failed to solve. Someone has been there and can help me?

I am new in Implementing HP Dataprotector 9.6, utilizing the StoreOnce Software feature. I found only few documents specific for HP Dataprotector StoreOnce Software.
If any of the brothers can extend some light ont he below matters:
1. I want to achieved, if my implementation/Configurations are set corretly.
2. My backup seems not working specially selecting the "Source Side Deduplication"
I have been working through upgrading all of our cells from 8.14 to 9.07. A couple of our cells have some older HPUX servers running 11.11 and 11.23. I have not upgraded them to 9.07 yet because I am not sure there is any compelling reason to do so. They are primarly disk agent only used for some filesystem backups.
Just checking to see if anyone has any input on whether or not we should upgrade these or leave them at the 8.14 agent.

I saw in MSSQL integration manual mentioned that I can backup more than 1 DB at a time of backup to multiple devices but I do not know how to configure this. I have found option "Concurrent streams" which will parallel 1 DB to multiple stream which not what I want. What I want is to backup multiple DB at the same time with 1 stream for each DB to multiple devices. How can I do that?
I am currently using DP ver 8.14 and MSSQL version is 2005, 2008 and 2012.

There are no valid objects left.
NOTE: From 3PAR CLI command, "showsys" shows that 3PAR hostname is use.
Please note that with new design in DP9.07/onwards, DNS hostname comparison against 3PAR host configuration (hostname) is case sensitive.
It means host (as configured on 3PAR) must exactly match (case sensitive) to the real hostname(as returned by DNS).
NOTE: From 3PAR CLI command, verify output of “showhost -d”
Solution
If this is in your case as a workaround, you may modify your backup host configuration on 3PAR to match the one from DNS.
I am using HP DP 9.06 on HP-UX cell server.
IDB backup was running fine until last backup, now receiving the below error message:

CM and IS is the same server (HP-UX 11.31)
KIndly let me know the required steps which i need to follow to complete the upgrade.
Also importantly the roll back plan which i am really worried about if incase something goes wrong.

I am testing a Linux redhat 6.7 OS recovery using EADR with DP9.06. Its part of a redhat cluster with lab fix QCCR2A689682 as the CONFIGURATION backup would fail. This is now resolved and I can create the ISO image...
so....I've done the backup, got the ISO and booted the VM from the ISO.
VM boots and I get the recovery options. I select "FULL RECOVERY"
fails during "Query storage pass 1..." - Disaster recovery failed due to a DRM exception (-6 ,2)
I check phase1.log and this reports files in sbin are missing. mdadm and all vg commands are missing. Filesets show they are installed via the "rpm -qa" command however they arent in /sbin
mdadm, vg* , lv*, pv*. alot of things are missing.
Has anyone seen this??

I have a VM file server (vmware) with RDM disks and alot of small files. The size is ~ 4TB. I managed to install a HBA in the host and configured passthrough for this card to VM file server to speed up the backup to the physical tape library LTO7 via SAN (the vm machine act as media agent now).
The backup is running fine (no errors), but i want to ask you if i can "trust" this backup. Is data consistent?

I need advice.
There is a HP DP 7.03, which da clients 5.5, 6.11, 6.2, 7.0. We are planning to move to HP DP 9.
Most of the clients can be upgraded to 7.0 and then to 9.0. However, there are several systems with old clients, for example AIX 5.3 with c DP DA 5.5 and 6.1. This version formally is not supported HP DP 9.0 (Platform_Integrtn_SptMtx_DP9.00) system. Also, there is no way to modify or update these legacy systems due to special software.
Question: what to do? Can the scheme, when the Cell is version 9.0, and one of the MEDIA server - version 7.0 and will only serve these ancient clients? Or is it a very strict ban and update Cell to 9.0 is not possible?

we have dp 9.05 installed and working.
We just tried to add a san based backup for a cluster windows 2008r2 server.
We can see the drive and the robotics, but whenever we try to back up we always get error

when I look at the devices on the server, the drives are listed as unknown, rather than under "Tape drives" and I am unable to install a driver (hplto.sys) that offer servers have
the tape library is an eml e103. I can't see where to download a driver anywhere.

I am trying to restore user mailbox using Exchange GRE.
CS= Windows 2012 R2, DP 9.06
Client= Windows 2008 R2, DP 9.06 Exchnage 2010
I have restore in past various time using GRE for Exchange but now getting error when it tries to retrieve Backup version as "An error occurred while retrieving the backup versions available for restore".
GRE debug log
Error getting backup versions for mailbox/database = xxxx USer, GreReturnCode = GRE_OBJECTSNOTFOUND,
m_errorDetail = No detail
Any help how to fix this issue.
