We have planned to install a fresh DP 8.01 Cell manager server and export all the clients from the existing DP 7.03 Cell Manager. We do not want to upgrade the existing Cell server from 7.x to 8.x due to many issues that are getting flashed recently.
Once the clients get exported to new Cell server (DP 8.x) , I need to know the restore process for the clients that was backep up on old cell server (DP 7.x) .
We will use the same ESL G3 tape library for both Cell servers.
We can import the clients back to old Cell Server (DP 7.x) for any previous restores and then export back to new cell server (DP 8.x). However this seems to be more cumbersome. Do we have any other alternate solution to restore the data from old Cell server (DP 7.x)
