Hi ,
Due to some specific requirements, i have to implement private backup vlan's [without network gateway] in my environment.
situation is : data protector client will have 2 NIC's [one for prod, one for backup] and i will add prod. ip address in cell manager and backup ip address in /etc/hosts [cell manager] + in backup host [/etc/hosts]
Additional info: i can only reach to cell manger through prod. ip adress so i thought that control can be re-route from client to cellmanager and backup data can be transferred through backup vlan. [if it is possible? not sure ]
for e.g
cell manger= 10.23x.10.20
prod ip = 10.25x.10.10
backup vlan ip = 192.168.10.10
Question :
1. should i add additional interface in cell manager in order to communicate with backup vlan's [DP clients]?
2. can i set the communication via 2 ip addresses -if yes, how - should i configure? or any document which can help in configuration?
3. can i add multiple interfaces in cell manager just only to communicate with backup vlan's [DP clients]? or does it work ? any license issue if i do that?
I would appriciate if you can help to understand these scanerio's?
