Hi guys,
I am starting to lose it with this behaviour. It is not the first time I encounter this behaviour and I don't understand it.
Can someone explain this to me ...
I have a VTL with 24 tape drive and a MSL with 1 tape drive.
For the last 24 hours, one of the VTL drive is in use to backup a server.
I have a copy job that was supposed to start this morning which has been like this for 12 hours:
[64:18] Some of the devices are occupied. Session is waiting for all the devices to get free.
Out of 24 tape drives, only one is in use but the copy job stall even if (in my own opinion) it should start on 23 tape drive !!!
Everyday, I have multiple backup jobs running in parallel and right now, if I start a backup or restore job it will run with the 23 avalaible virtual drives without problems. Why my object copy jobs refuse to start if all the virtual drive are not idle ?
Please don't tell me that this is a normal behaviour of DP...
I don't know if I made the situation clear for you guys, I'm sorry, english is not my first language.
Thanks for your help
Alain P.
