its't not clear to me, how Data/Catalog protection works and how it is stored on tape. I have old tape that was not in IDB but media was known. I did export and import tape, several new sessions were created. The sessions also restored original Data/Catalog protections. Now I can change protection on that sessions but how this will be written to the tape itself? In the case I will later need to export/import the media again, will I see the changes? The media Ua\sage, even with data, shows 100% free space, nothing i sin use. I am affraid that now I have mismatch between what's on the tape and what's in IDB.
(EDIT) What is the relation of column Protection on Devices / tape device / Slots to session protection? I can have several sessions with different data protection on the same tape, how is that consolidated into one media protection?
