LTO-5 256k Block size on W2008 R2 SP1 x64 Storage Server not working?

I have a DP8.12 Cell Manager on Windows 2008 R2 x64 with both D2D4324 and MSL8096 Tape library. All tape drives (LTO-5) fibre connected are set to 256k block size.

All works well until I tried to add an HP X3800 Nas server (DL380 G7) running Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Storage Server x64, with Brocade 815 FC hba as a Media Server - On testing with a simple Format, DP reports [90:52] Cannot read from device ([87] The parameter is incorrect.

On further testing locally on the X3800 with LTT using Dev Performance, the test works with 128k blocks, but fails immediately with 256k blocks reporting 'Invalid Block size'. Both block sizes pass on a similar test on the Cell Manager.

I have updated the Brocade Storport driver to the latest version (3.2.1.0), and the hbas to latest firmware (2013 08 01), and am using the latest HP StoreEver Tape Drivers (3.9.0.0)

The X3800 is a x64 machine, so MaximumSGList is apparently not valid, (but I have added it anyway)

Backup from the X3800 to a (loacl) null device works okay

What am I missing on this DL380 G7 under Windows 2008 R2 x64 Storage Server, with Brocade 815 hba's that prevents the use of 256k blocks to an LTO-5?

Any suggestions - I'm at a loss....
