So little situation sketch:
freshly installed DP 8.1 in windows 2008. The customer wants to back up to 4TB of local diskspace. So I created a test FileLibrary pointed to that drive. Running an random backup preview from most servers works fine, servers not in the DMZ.
Now there is a server in the DMZ and I thought I'd use the options in the omnirc file. So I copied the omnirc.tmpl from the programData path to the Program File\OmniBack\ folder and un commented the OB2PORTRANGE option.
So now it reads OB2PORTRANGE=18000-18009
I restarted the services and tried a backup.
And after hours of fiddling and whatnot the result remains that I get something along the lines of 'Cannot connect to Media Agent on system <cell manager>, port <random> (IPC Invalid Hostname or IP address) => Aborting.
I thought it might be in their firewall, but as far as I understand it that random port should now always be in between 18000 and 18009, which it isn't. In general it's a random number over 55k
Is there some obvious step that I am missing here? If so, please help :)
