I have a media agent in the protected network segment, which is separated from the Cell firewall. Cell-Media can be accessed only from the upper ports to 5555 on both sides - only management (control) traffic!. Conventional backup session held successfully.
On the media agent I added component integration with Vmvare.
When you try to create a backup specification step select "Backup Host" console "freezes" and the field "Datacenter" is not filled (in contrast to other media servers in open segments).

Attempts to access vCenter from the media server side is not.
questions:
1. Why vepa_util trying to contact the CRS? And it is with the top local dynamic port to a remote dynamic upper port?
2. Can it be removed? Do without it?
3. Checked documentation DP7 (concept, installation, troubleshooting) and found not explain this behavior of the client. Where it is described in what document?
Update.
I recorded in the file global settings for port for CRS services. Now I can create a specification. But when executed this specification - again, try access from the top local media server ports on the upper Cell server ports, only now to Backup Session Manager.
Why????
