Appendable & Non Appendable usage in virtual tapes

Hi folks,

I have a D2D with virtual tapes.

My issue is that DP doesn't re-use any expired tape and our D2D is filling quickly, so I need to format manually each one of the expired tapes to be reused. The usage was as appendable.

However, if I change the usage to Non Appendable in the pools, our D2D save a lot of space, however in many of our backups show this mount request:

    Mount request for any medium (blank or without protection):
        Device          : HP:Ultrium 5-SCSI_1_Lib001
        Host            : server.liberman.com
        Slot            : 1

to confirm this Mount Request, I need to format any tape to be used, so my question is: Is there any option to re-use the tapes without those mount request and avoid fill our D2D?

What is the best way to set the usage with my Virtual Tapes, as Appendable or Non Appendable?
