Environments where DP Clients that serve as De-Duplication Gateways have been removed exported/removed from the cell may experience problems with the daily media cleanup maintenance. A multitude of errors will be generated during the Media Cleanup sessions such as:
[Major] From: MSM@cellmanager.domain.com "" Time: 2/8/2017 12:02:04 PM
[65:2] Could not connect to Data Protector inet process on host gateway.domain.com.

[65:73] Media Management daemon reports:
"[12:3069] Certificate verification has failed. The certificate is signed by an untrusted certificate authority (CA)."
Continued growth in the number of expired media in media pools that are not getting deleted may also be experienced.
The reason for this is that although the clients were removed from the cell, the Libraries still have gateways configured that point to the exported clients. Hence the automatic maintenance is still trying to clean up expired media by using the gateways configured.
To resolve this issue delete or disable the problematic gateways and configure new gateways which point to existing media agent clients. Then either allow the automatic maintenance to run as normal or manually trigger the delete_unprotected_media functionality using the GUI or CLI command omnimm
