We have a new Exchange 2010+ integration where exchange has recently migrated from the old exchange 2007 to exchange 2013. We are using GRE as well. Hosts are physicals in a 4-node DAG.
User wants to recover an email so I have chosen the incremental date via the GRE interface. All fine so far...
Actual restore has been attempted twice and failed. Its restoring 2 FULL objects and 5 INCR objects so its a sizeable restore.
The last two restores failed with this........
FIRST RESTORE: looked to take many hours then clashed with the evening backup so this is why I think it failed.
SECOND RESTORE: failed about 2hrs after the last object restored. Session report shows these messages every 5 mins...
"Operation is still in progress. Waiting to complete..."
but at 2 hrs....just for this reported from OB2BAR_VSSBAR:
"restore failed" ............not very helpful!
I checked debug.log and it showed this..........
CVSSSystem::Wait()] Failed to complete operation, error: VSS_S_ASYNC_PENDING
this error is 2hrs after the last message in debug.log. Wondering if we need an OMNIRC variable altered....
maybe OB2VSS_WAIT_TIMEOUT which by defauly is 120mins....
I'm now running the restore again on another exchange node so the restore is local as before is was another node being involved....see how that goes.
Any help would be appreciated. Anyone seen this??
