Hi There,
I am having difficulty to add a Ubuntu client either manually or via a DP installation server. When trying to add the client manually using the omnisetup.sh script , here is what I have done and the output results:-
The problem I found is the when using omnisetup.sh -install da Ubuntu does not recognise the rpm files under /DP_DEPOT, so one question what is the workaround? I have done the following so far:-
1. apg-get install rpm netkit-inetd
2. add line to inetd.conf " omni stream tcp nowait root /opt/omni/lbin/inet inet-log /var/opt/omni/log/inet.log
3. chmod +x omnisetup.sh
4. omnisetup.sh -install da
And I get the following output
root@nscf:/tmp/DP9/LOCAL_INSTALL# ./omnisetup.sh -server prdpcell.nhls.ac.za -install da
The omnisetup.sh script did not complete the last time it was run.
Client still has to be installed. (omnicf ts_core da)
The omnisetup.sh script can now resume the installation session
or it can ignore the saved state and start a new session.
If you choose to ignore, the script will erase the saved state
and will process only the command line options.
Do you want the setup to resume the installation? (Y/n)
n
Ignoring saved state...
No Data Protector software detected on the target system.
Packets going to be (re)installed: omnicf ts_core da
Installing Core (omnicf)...
RPM Package Manager is not installed or configured properly.
Setup cannot continue. Installation of the Data Protector CORE component failed.
I have also disabled the firewall on the Ubuntu side, and generated ssh keys for the Linux Redhat 7.1 DP installation server and Ubuntu 16.04 client.
Has anyone had this problem and managed a work around?
Kind Regards,
Jose
