Data Protector 9 backup took abnormally long amount of time to complete

Hello --

We have Data Protector 9 installed on our systems, and one of the backups that we have scheduled took three hours to complete. The job is scheduled to start at 4:30 in the morning, and it normally completes in about one hour. The messages listed with the backup showed the directory that took the longest time to complete:

[Normal] From: VBDA@cosmos1.mgh.harvard.edu "/usr" Time: 10/4/2016 4:32:06 AM
COMPLETED Disk Agent for cosmos1.mgh.harvard.edu:/usr "/usr".

[Normal] From: VBDA@cosmos1.mgh.harvard.edu "/astroid" Time: 10/4/2016 6:38:09 AM
COMPLETED Disk Agent for cosmos1.mgh.harvard.edu:/astroid "/astroid".

The full path to the folder in the /usr directory that is being backed up is /usr/local/pgsql, and it is only thirty-eight, 38, megabytes. A check of the syslog.log file on the cell manager did not show any errors. The server is connected to an EVA3000 diskarray, and one of the disks is in a failed state. We are in the process of getting the disk replaced as soon as possible.

Would the failed disk cause this problem to occur, or is there something else that I should investigate to determine the cause of this job taking longer than normal to complete?

Thanks.
