RMAN / ORA-01017 invalid username/password; login denied After Upgrading client from 7 to 9

We're in the process of switching from DP7 to DP9...

(some over simplification here...)

Step 1: We switched our Database Backups from the DP7 Cell Manager to the DP9 cell manager, but left the DP7 client in place on the HPUX systems.  Database Backups worked on both systems (one server has Oracle 10, the other Oracle 11).

Step 2: Upgrade the Clients to 9 on both HPUX systems.

The system running Oracle 10 - we're getting RMAN / ORA-01017 ... invalid when doing a configuration test.  I re-entered the password and tested it from the HPUX command line multiple times.  I found some forum post where there was a bug/patch for 8.10...  We have plans to patch upto 9.07, but it could be a couple of weeks before we get to this.  (lots of systems affected...)

The system running Oracle 11... Configuration Test Okay.

Is there a configuration or simple patch fix for this issue?  DP9 / Oracle 10g / HPUX - invalid user/pass...

Would really like to solve this before Monday.
