Hi,
(Note: Running DP 9.06 in a 2-node Windows 2008 Failover Cluster configuration)
I recently applied the DPWINBDL_906 update to my Data Protector 9.06 installation, to fix a Remote Access Vulnerability reported by my colleagues in Security.
Not alone did the upgrade not resolve the issue (reports the module as 9.05), but I've noticed a couple of other issues that did not previously exist for us:
1. Backups to drives using Drive-based encryption fail/hang, leaving the tape in the drive and rendering it unusable until manually unloaded;
2. Object copies from VLS to physical tape fail/hang on error,

No write device with suitable block size found.
This despite the fact that both source and target drives use a blocksize of 256Kb, and have done for years. Copy operations hang and the csm.exe process has to be stopped in Task Manager before the devices become usable again.
The issue with backups failing is under diagnosis - I note there is a known issue (strangely, supposed to have been resolved in 9.06) for this and am awaiting developments. The issue with object copies is troubling, though.
From its behaviour, it would seem to be related to the backup issue (in that the tape is retained), but other than that I don't understand it.
I presume others have experienced this - if anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Bob
