Delete lto media and remove IDB

I have a new HP DP tape backup version 9.0 environment. We have completed testing using unlabeled LTO 6 tapes. I need to delete all the Data from the Unlabeled tapes and delete the IDB. I Will then load new tapes (with new barcode scheme), format them then start backing up our real data.

How do I force format the old tapes and delete the IDB so I can start with a clean slate?
