If a UNIX client's file system is on an AdvancedJFS, performance of a serial read of a file may increase if the file system buffer is bypassed. To enable a backup to do this, set the following in the .omnirc file on the backup host.
OB2VXDIRECT=1
By default this is turned on for Solaris file system backups but needs to be explicitly set in the .omnirc file for other UNIX hosts. This will also enable the feature for SAP R/3 integration backups.
