Standby File Library

I am thinking of ways to have a hot standby media server just in case the primary one goes down.  Here's the current setup:

- physical server with 2 TB lun

- client added to DP as File Library using distributed file media format

If the server were to go down, what's the fastest way to continue backups on a standby?  I'm thinking of either:

a) have another physical server that is also zoned to the 2 TB lun; install disk/media agent but do not use unless it's an emergency.

b) have a vm with the lun presented as a raw device mapping; install disk/media agent but do not use unless it's an emergency

I know any backup specifications would need to change the destination to the standby server.  Basically the goal would be to not lose any backups in case the backup admin (me) is not around, so anyone can make a couple changes in DP and be done.  But from one DP admin to everyone else, does this make sense?  How would you do it?
