My cell manager is windows 2008 R2 and I am trying install disk agent on windows 2012 R2. The problem is when these servers are in the same VLAN, the install is smooth and successfull. However, if I put windows 2012 R2 on a different VLAN then the remote install fails. My network admin has verified that there is nothing restricting between these two VLANs.
Here are the scenarios and errors that I encounter:
1. Remote install of disk agent with windows firewall ON in remote windows 2012 R2 server: install fails with error "network path was not found"
2. Remote install of DA with windows firewall OFF in remote 2012 R2 server: [110:1024] Cannot start the Data Protector bootstrap service on... the service did not start due to a log on failure
3. Local install of DA on the windows 2012 R2 server - the installer gets interrupted in the middle of the install process.
Its not a windows firewall issue. The install works fine with the firewall on when it is in a different VLAN. Also, the VLAN that cell manager resides in has unrestricted access to the vlan the remote 2012 R2 server resides in. Also, it is not an antivirus issue since the process failed even after the antivirus was unloaded.
What am I missing here? Thanks!
