Disaster Recovery from a virtual machine?

Good morning!

so we already use the data protector a long time, but we dont really used the distaster recovery.

But now it seems there´re more requirements for that.

But, ofcourse, before we tell everybody that we defently can do that, we wanted to test it.

And to keep it easy we used a virtual machine (VMWare). But unfortunately we cant make it.

Everything looks fine until we boot the recovery iso. We got serveral error messages (Unfortunatley we cant copy them from the console). But first it was that the user dont have enough permissions. So for i created an admin user for that system in data protector. That error doesent appear anymore. But instead we get: "could not connect to inet" .

I´ve set the ip manually from the cmd and the connection is good. I even can ping the FQDN from the Cell Manager.

But regardless he says:

"From RSM@cellmanager.domain.com

[61:4007] Could not connect to inet in order to start Filesystem restore ...."

I have no clue why. Then i thought: The only environment where we dont need an distaster recovery is the VMWare environment (we make snapshots everyweek and store them). Then i thought: Is it even supported to do a distater recovery from a VM? I couldnt find anything about it on the internet / nor the Distaster Recovery Guide.

Thanks for the help!
