DP and snapshot of 2012 deduplicated LUN

Hi boys and girls,

I have a question for you.

I've got a vmware VM file server that runs Windows 2012. A raw device mappings (around 3.5Tb) is linked to this VM that contains files deduplicated with microsoft Windows 2012 features.

LTO tape and SAN storage use Fiber Chanel.

I need to do LAN free backup.

I plan to snapshot the RDM LUN with storage feature and map it to the media agent that drive the LTO tape. This media agent should be Windows 2012 as well with deduplication enabled.

In you opinion, will it be OK to read deduplicated data from the snapshot LUN ?

Is there a better way to do ?
