Backup to be moved from one location to another

Hi ,

We have a filesystem which has a very deep directory structure . Approx more than 300 levels deep and size of it is 900GB .

Like this we have around 8 TB of data that needs to be moved from one location/storage to another location .

We just want to scrap this storage as of now .

How do i take this wholebackup and on what device do i take it ?

I tried through DP v 7.03 for hpux 11iv2 host , for 500MB it took 15 min, just imagine for 900GB how much time it would take.

Any suggestions on how do i take this forward ?

All are hpux 1iv2 hosts connected to MSL8096 library with 8GB San Switch  and LTO4 tapes.
